It’s cute until you have 100000 tadpoles. Frogs found my Uncle’s pond in VT and it’s been frog heaven ever since.

You use Barley extract or the straw? I tried a straw bale and it did nothing, but make algae grow on the bail. Extract and a tiny bit of fish safe water clarifier works perfect.

barley bales didn’t do a damn thing for me. So now I have a pressure filter with a UV clarifier. My fish (koi, goldfish, and a bunch of baby koi/goldfish hybrids) help fight back the rest of the algae.
